Leila is a community organizer and communications strategist who believes in investing in a better, more progressive future.
As a newcomer to the world of VC, Leila’s fresh perspective and expertise in virtual programming and digital marketing scaled Outlander’s online presence from scratch. Amidst the pandemic, Leila championed the pivot to reaching founders remotely by launching the virtual OutPitch competitions, Outlander Demo Day, and monthly fireside series to connect founders with leading experts all across the globe. Her digital campaigns have proven instrumental in increasing the quality of our deal flow, ultimately accounting for ⅓ of our 1500+ leads in 2021.
A Georgia native and graduate of Agnes Scott College, she discovered her love of marketing for social good upon founding a nonprofit focused on refugee resettlement. After graduating with a self-designed Human Rights degree, she participated in Atlanta-based incubator The Guild’s inaugural cohort of founders. Since then, Leila has mastered the art of connecting causes to their supporters in many different industries, including disability advocacy, immigration law, political campaigning, and, now, tech entrepreneurs.
